Travis Kvapil

"Travis Kvapil Drives the "CAT"-illac of Trucks!"

My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Travis Kvapil when we took a week plus vacation to Tennessee this year (in 2002). Our big finale to the 10 day get-away was the NASCAR Craftsman Truck race on our final night. We stayed in Lebanon and got to the Nashville Motor Speedway early on Saturday. We even made a dry run the night before to see how long it would take to get there! It was our first NASCAR event and I can't tell you how thrilling it was for us. My husband is thirty, I'm thirty-three and we were finally able to get away from work and do exactly what we wanted for one whole week! The closest we ever got to racing was the local clay track and the County fairs in Illinois. Here we were, at last, getting to see all the trucks we saw on television, smell the garages, watch the mechanics and get a real feel for the excitement behind the scenes with our fan walk pass. That was so neat. Then, to make the best even better, Mike Bliss and Travis were doing an autograph session! Just in case, I had come prepared with 2 of my racing trading cards of Travis! It was so neat to be able to see him and say "hi" and stuff. He seems like such a nice, quiet guy. The pic below is of the promo "posters" they were autographing.
